Energy management and emissions for Oil & Gas.

Upstream and midstream operations report against indicators a generic tool doesn't separate out by default: flare intensity, fugitive methane, and a portfolio where terminals and storage sites shouldn't be benchmarked against producing wells.

What we track for Oil & Gas operators

Each indicator is tracked on its own, so the number you report is also the number you can act on.

  • Flare intensity tracked as its own indicator, not folded into a generic emissions line
  • Methane decomposed from fuel-gas and process pathways, not lumped together
  • Non-producing terminals excluded from intensity rankings by design
  • Energy use of compressors, pumps, gas turbines and fired heaters
  • Fuel-gas consumption and own-use energy per unit produced

How Envera helps Oil & Gas operators

Step 01

Energy audit & baseline

We audit the largest energy users (compressors, pumps, turbines and fired heaters) and build an energy baseline for each producing site.

Step 02

Monitoring & EnPIs

The Energy Intelligence Platform tracks energy intensity, flare intensity and fuel-gas use per site, and flags drift early.

Step 03

ISO 50001

We build and implement an ISO 50001 energy management system across your sites and prepare you for certification.

Step 04

Emissions accounting

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are calculated from the same energy data, with flaring and methane kept as separate lines.

Step 05

Training

Your operations and energy teams learn to run the system and keep improving it.

Frequently asked questions

Why track flare intensity separately?
Flaring has its own causes and its own fixes, from process upsets to gas-handling capacity. Folded into a total emissions line it disappears; tracked as its own indicator, you can see whether it is improving.
Should terminals be benchmarked against producing sites?
No. Terminals and storage sites have a completely different energy profile from producing wells, so we exclude them from production-intensity rankings and compare them with similar sites instead.
Does ISO 50001 apply to oil and gas companies?
Yes. ISO 50001 applies to any organisation, and energy-intensive oil and gas operations are among those that benefit most from a structured energy management system.
